# Charge Price-per-Character for Custom Text Field

Have you ever in need of charging an extra fee based on how long the Customer’s custom text is? This feature lets you set a price for each character they type!

# CREATING THE PRICE - PER - CHARACTER LAYER

* Go to your Artwork Editor, create a new[ custom text field](/en/article/add-text-text-personalization-12lfa55/), like you usually do. 

* Once you're done creating the custom text layer, please be sure to enable the toggle for `Charge by Character count`

* Continue to click on the `Add` button, and add the Price you want to charge per character

In this section, Teeinblue will automatically detect your store’s  **main currency**. For example, if your store uses USD and you want to charge $1 per character, simply enter “1” in the field.

| 👉 If your store uses Shopify Markets to support multiple currencies, our app will automatically convert the amount based on your Market settings, using Shopify’s latest exchange rates.

**Note**: If you have multiple stores connected, please add a default price for each store.
For example, you want to charge 1.00USD/character for your U.S. store, but 5.00EUR/character for your Germany store, set the rates like this:

    USD: 1

    EUR: 5
```

* Don't forget to add an instruction for your Customers should you want to!
