Connecting to AI Model Services

To use GenAI effects, you will need to sign up and pay for a 3rd-party AI model. All image generation credits are billed directly by the AI provider, rather than Teeinblue.

Currently, Teeinblue supports the following AI models:

GPT model;
Flux Kontext model;
Gemini model.

Connect GPT Model

Navigate to https://platform.openai.com/api-keys and Sign Up or Log In
Once you're logged in, click + Create a new secret key button

Complete the API Key creation process

Once you're done, your API Key will be generated and displayed

Copy and paste it into Teeinblue via Extras > 3rd-party Services > Gen AI effects

Please go back to your OpenAI Platform, navigate to Settings > Organization > General, and verify your organization; or faster access via: https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/general. In Organization Settings, please complete Individual Verification (Business Verification is only required if you want to access protected models and submit ChatGPT apps).

Currently, with Teeinblue GenAI Effect, you can use the API once you have completed Individual Verification. You can choose the verification level that best fits your needs.

Connect Flux Kontext Model

Navigate to https://dashboard.bfl.ai/api/keys and Sign Up or Log In;
Once you're logged in, click on the + Add Key button

Complete the process to get your API Key

Once you're done, click the Copy button to copy it

Paste it into the app via Extras > 3rd-party Services > Gen AI Effects

Once you're logged in, click on the + Create Key button

Once your API key is created, continue by selecting Set up billing to configure the payment method.

Once your API key’s payment method is set up, copy the key and paste it into Teeinblue via Extras > 3rd-party Services > Gen AI effects:

Automatic AI Model Switching

Permanent model retirement

When a provider retires a model, Teeinblue automatically moves affected accounts to a supported successor before the shutdown date. This permanently updates the saved model selection; it does not depend on the temporary backup setting below. Your API keys and other service settings stay unchanged.

After the switch, the store owner receives a confirmation email naming the previous and new models if the account has an API key for that provider. Recheck your Artwork and prompts, as a different model can produce different results.

Temporary outages: use a backup model

The Auto-switch to a backup model during temporary outages setting is off by default. It applies across GenAI providers at account level, including image effects, text-to-image, and multi-image generation.

Go to Teeinblue Portal > Extras > 3rd-party Services > Gen AI Effects > Gen AI Effects Service. Turn on Auto-switch to a backup model during temporary outages.

With this setting on, images may be generated by a different model during an outage, so the result can look noticeably different. Turning it on accepts this change; the warning stays visible while it is on.

In Teeinblue Portal > Extras > 3rd-party Services > Gen AI Effects > Gen AI Effects Service, click Save.

When Teeinblue detects an ongoing provider outage, it temporarily uses an available backup model from the same provider. Your saved model selection stays unchanged, and no email is sent for this temporary switch. Teeinblue checks for recovery periodically and returns to the original model automatically; switching back can take up to 30 minutes after recovery.

Keep in mind

This setting does not fix invalid API keys, missing model access, insufficient credits, quota limits, or rate limits.
Generation can still fail if the setting is off, no backup is available, or the backup also fails. There is no second backup.
To disable it, go to Teeinblue Portal > Extras > 3rd-party Services > Gen AI Effects > Gen AI Effects Service, turn off Auto-switch to a backup model during temporary outages, then click Save.

Choosing AI Models for Each Upload Photo Layer

You can assign a different AI model to each Upload Photo Layer in your artwork. Since each model may produce different results, this gives you the flexibility to choose the one that works best for each layer.

Here are the steps to do so:

Make sure you’ve connected the APIs for all the models you plan to use.
Inside Artwork Editor, select which AI model to use for each Upload Photo Layer.

If you use Default settings, Teeinblue will automatically use the default model you selected in 3rd-party Services.
