Due to Etsy’s policy, third-party apps like Teeinblue cannot modify the storefront or add personalization options directly on the Etsy product page. Instead, Teeinblue provides two alternative personalization experiences, allowing buyers to customize their orders before or after checkout.

Prepare Campaigns for Etsy

Before getting started, remember that your Etsy listings must connect with a campaign in Teeinblue to provide the pre- or post-purchase personalization.

There are 2 types of Campaigns you can use with Etsy:

1. Campaign by Etsy products

Here you can link an Artwork with an existing Etsy listing in your store. All listing info (variants, images,...) is managed in Etsy, and you can keep your listing's rating and sales history.

2. Campaign by Product base to Etsy

Publishing a campaign by Product base to Etsy will create a new Etsy listing. Most listing info (variants, images...) is managed in Teeinblue's Product base. You can re-use the Campaigns you published to Shopify to publish to Etsy.

After creating your campaigns, you can offer Etsy personalization before or after checkout:

• Pre-purchase Personalization (personalize before checkout)
• Post-purchase Personalization (personalize after checkout)

Pre-purchase Personalization

How it works:

After launching a campaign to Etsy, you'll find a "Preview URL" of that campaign. This is where your buyers can personalize this campaign.

Example Preview URL: https://customize.teeinblue.com/make?shop=etsy.com/shop/TeeinblueDev&campaign_id=4371085196&preview=true

1. You need to add the Preview URL of a campaign to your item description (or personalization instruction)

2. Buyers open your campaign's Preview URL to personalize. After buyers submit customization, Teeinblue generates a unique Customization ID.

3. Buyers copy this ID and paste it into the Personalization field on your Etsy listing before checkout.

4. When they complete the order, Teeinblue reads the Customization ID from Etsy Orders and automatically generates a print-ready file based on that ID.

To enable Pre-purchase personalization:

• Login to your Etsy store in Teeinblue → Store Settings → General settings
• In the Collect Etsy's Personalization data section, select Personalization data type = Customization ID

NOTES: In cases:

• buyers forgot to paste the customization ID in the Personalization field
• buyers entered an invalid ID
• buyers purchase a variant different from the one they personalize

Post-purchase Personalization

How it works:

1. Buyers place an order on Etsy
2. Teeinblue receives the order and generates **a unique customization link **for that order.
3. You can copy the link and send it to your buyers through Etsy messages. Or set up a way to auto-send an email to request customization (How to auto-send customization links to Etsy buyers)
4. Buyers customize and submit their personalization through that link
5. Teeinblue automatically generates a print-ready file based on their submission
