Global Options feature - Reuse options across artworks
Why use Global Options?
- Centralized Control: Manage and edit your options from a single source. If you need to update a setting or change a option title, you only have to do it once, and those changes will automatically updated to every layer linked to that option.
- Time-Saving Efficiency: Eliminate repetitive setup workload. Build your library of standardized options and apply them to new artworks in seconds.
- Enhanced Buyer Experience: The system intelligently carries over buyer selections. If a customer chooses a specific value (such as a Custom Name layer, or a Clipart file) in one campaign, that selection is remembered and automatically applied when they visit another campaign that utilizes the same Global Option.

How to Create a Global Option
Before we begin, imagine this Global Options section as your centralized design library. Instead of recreating options from scratch every time you start a new artwork, you are building a library of pre-configured options that can be reused infinitely.

Here's the key points of the Global Options:
- The Master Template: This library acts as the single source of truth. Because these options are stored as library assets rather than local settings, they carry a global scope. When you need to adjust an option, like change the Option Title of a Text Layer, or change the Clipart Directory of an option, you only update the library asset here once. Every campaign currently using that asset will inherit the update automatically.
- Keep Your Workflow Clean: As you add more Campaigns/Artworks, managing individual settings for each Artworks can become very frustrating. By using this library, you stop creating the same options over and over again. This can help optimize your workflow and removes the workloads of maintaining dozens of settings spread across different artworks.
Currently, there are two ways to create your Global Options:
- Creating the Global Options manually.
- Navigate to Assets > Global Options > click on
+ Global Optionsbutton > and select the options you want to create.

- In this example, let's start with the
Photo Uploadoption.

You should find the rest of the settings here very familiar. Once you're done with creating your Global Option, be sure to save it.
- Import Global Options from an existing Artwork
If an option already exists on a layer in one of your Artworks, you don’t need to recreate it manually. You can import it directly into your Global Options library, and Teeinblue will automatically copy over its values and settings for you:
- Go to Assets > Global Options. On the + Global Option button, click the dropdown arrow and select
Import from existing options.

- In the Import from existing options popup, your can search for the Artwork name you want, then click it. Selecting an Artwork takes you straight to the next step.

- Select any options you want to import. If the Artwork has more than one template, choose the template first, then tick each option you want.

- Once you’ve selected all the options you want to import, click Create. The button remains disabled until you select at least one option. Each option you select creates a separate Global Option, with all its values and settings copied from the source option. The new options will appear in your Global Options list, named as
[Artwork name] - Option name.

Recommendation: You can set or change the internal name for your Global Option in Edit global option section. Pick a name that is clear and easy for you to remember, as you will be selecting this option frequently later on for other Artworks. For example, naming it [Photo Canvas] ... makes it easier to quickly find and apply to all your Canvas campaigns.

Adding Global Options to Artwork
Inside your Artwork Editor, click on + Layer button, then select your wanted layer.

- Inside Personalization Settings of each layer, please choose
Use an existing global optionand select the Global Option you want.

USE CASE: If you want a customer’s photo to appear in multiple spots on the same artwork, you don't need to create separate options for each one.
Simply create your first photo layer and link it to your Global Option. From there, you can copy and paste that layer as many times as you like. Because all those copied layers are linked to the same Global Option, the photo the customer uploads once will automatically populate every single one of those layers.

As you can see in the above image, there is only one form element for the Pet Photo layer.
Behavior on the Storefront
There are two main ways this improves the buyer experience:
- Instant Sync Within the Same Campaign: If multiple layers in a campaign are linked to the same Global Option, for example, a photo that needs to appear in four different spots on the design, the customer only needs to upload it once. Once uploaded, the photo is automatically synced and applied to all linked layers in the campaign.

- Seamless Carry-over Between Campaigns: If the customer interacts with a Global Option in one campaign, and then navigates to another campaign that uses that same Global Option, their previous choice is already waiting for them. Because the system remembers their selection, they don't have to re-upload or re-select anything, which significantly boosts the likelihood of them completing multiple purchases in one session.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If I update a Global Option, does it affect existing orders?
No. No. Updating a Global Option only affects the campaign setup for customers who view the campaign afterward. Existing orders remain locked with the customization data captured at the time the order was placed.
Can I unlink a layer from a Global Option later?
Yes. You can unlink a layer at any time within the Artwork Editor. Once unlinked, that layer will revert as a new layer.
What happens if I delete a Global Option?
If a Global Option is being used in any Artwork, you cannot delete it. Please remove the Global Option from all ongoing campaigns before deleting it.
Do I have to use Global Options for every layers?
Not at all. You can still use local options for unique elements that only appear in a specific artwork, while Global Options are recommended for recurring and standardized settings to improve efficiency.
What if I want a layer to use the same input but have different layout settings?
You can link multiple layers to the same Global Option, while each layer still retains its own individual settings (position, size, rotation, etc.) within the Artwork Editor. The “Global” part only handles the data, such as the photo or text, while the design placement remains unique to each layer.
