AI Assistant (MCP)
A plain-language rundown of every action available through the Teeinblue AI Assistant (MCP) — for building campaigns, building and organizing your design library, publishing to stores, and handling orders. No coding knowledge needed; just find the job you want done and use the same example prompt.
Getting Started
Connect an MCP-compatible assistant — Claude Desktop, Claude Code, a Claude.ai custom connector, Cursor, or any other client that speaks Streamable HTTP MCP — directly to your TeeinBlue account.
- Get an API token. Open your TeeinBlue account's API Tokens settings, create a new token, and grant it the
mcp:accessability. That single ability unlocks every tool in this guide. Copy the token now — it's shown once. - Point your client at the endpoint in the portal Ai Assistant MCP, with the token as a bearer header.
- Verify. Ask your assistant "What campaigns do I have on TeeinBlue?" — it should call
list-campaigns-tooland return your data.
Claude Web
- Go to Settings → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector, enter
Teeinblueas the name andhttps://api.teeinblue.com/mcpas the URL, then click Continue.

- Select No sign-in, then add a request header: name
authorization, valueBearer <YOUR_API_TOKEN>, then click Add.

Claude Desktop
There are two ways to connect. You can use Add custom connector, the same way as Claude Web, or you can use the alternative method below:
- Open Settings → Developer → Edit Config, or edit the file directly:
- macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json - Windows:
%APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
- macOS:
- Add the following (Node.js must be installed), then save and restart Claude Desktop.
{
"mcpServers": {
"teeinblue": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"mcp-remote",
"https://api.teeinblue.com/mcp",
"--header",
"Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_API_TOKEN>"
]
}
}
}
Claude Code
- Run this command in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http teeinblue https://mcp.teeinblue.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_MCP_TOKEN>"

- Run
/mcpinside Claude Code to confirm Teeinblue is connected.
Codex
You can connect through Codex settings or edit its configuration file. Choose one method.
First, go to Teeinblue Portal > AI Assistant (MCP) to get your MCP token and Endpoint URL. Under Add Teeinblue to your AI client > Choose your AI client > Codex, you can also find Teeinblue's configuration guide.
Method 1: Add a connection in Codex
- Go to Codex > Settings > Plugins > Add > Add MCP server to add your custom connection.

- In Codex > Settings > Plugins > Add > Add MCP server, configure a remote HTTP server named
teeinblueusing the following values:
- URL: the Endpoint URL from Teeinblue Portal > AI Assistant (MCP), such as
https://api.teeinblue.com/mcpfor production. - Headers: key
Authorization, valueBearer <YOUR_MCP_TOKEN>. Replace the placeholder with your token, keeping the space afterBearer. - Bearer token env var: leave empty when using the header above.
Save the connection, then fully quit and restart Codex. The screenshot above uses a staging endpoint; use the endpoint from your own Teeinblue Portal.
To edit an existing connection, go to Codex > Settings > Plugins > MCPs > teeinblue > gear icon, update the same fields, click Save, then restart Codex again.

Method 2: Edit the configuration file
- On your computer, open the Codex configuration file in a text editor:
- macOS:
~/.codex/config.toml - Windows:
%USERPROFILE%\.codex\config.toml
- macOS:
Add the following block. Use the Endpoint URL and token from Teeinblue Portal > AI Assistant (MCP). If a [mcp_servers.teeinblue] block already exists, update it instead of adding a duplicate.
[mcp_servers.teeinblue]
url = "https://api.teeinblue.com/mcp"
http_headers = { "Authorization" = "Bearer <YOUR_MCP_TOKEN>" }- Save the file, then fully quit and restart Codex to load the MCP configuration.
Check the connection
- In Codex > Settings > Plugins > MCPs, find teeinblue and make sure its toggle is on.

- In Codex > a new chat, ask: "What campaigns do I have on Teeinblue?" Codex should use the Teeinblue MCP tools to return your campaigns.
MCP Tool List
Below are all the actions the AI Assistant (MCP) can perform
Guided help
Action | Description | Example prompt | Tool ID |
|---|---|---|---|
Get a step-by-step guide | Gives the assistant a walkthrough for a common job (create an artwork, fulfill orders, edit a campaign), so it knows what to ask you and which actions to run. | "I want to create a new personalized artwork — can you walk me through it?" |
|
Campaigns — create & manage
A "campaign" is a sellable listing — the container that bundles a product, its photos, and its artwork together.
Action | Description | Example prompt | Tool ID |
|---|---|---|---|
Start a new campaign | Creates a fresh, empty campaign ready to be built out. | "Create a new campaign called 'Fall Pumpkin Mugs.'" |
|
Duplicate a campaign | Clones an existing campaign as a starting point for a new one. | "Duplicate my 'Christmas Sweater' campaign as a starting point for Easter." |
|
Edit campaign details | Updates the name, vendor, product type, tags, or how products are displayed. | "Rename this campaign to 'Retro Sunset Tees' and tag it bestseller." |
|
Change a campaign's thumbnail | Sets or removes the campaign's main (featured) image, from an image link or a file you upload. On Shopify it becomes the product's first image. Live stores keep the old image until you push updates. | "Use this image as the thumbnail for my 'Retro Sunset Tees' campaign." |
|
Change a campaign's store URL | Edits the URL handle (the part after /products/) of a campaign on a Shopify store it's published to. Live stores keep the old URL until you push updates. | "Change the URL of my 'Retro Sunset Tees' campaign on my Shopify store to 'retro-sunset-tee.'" |
|
Delete a campaign | Permanently removes a campaign. This cannot be undone. | "Delete the test campaign I made yesterday." |
|
Look up one campaign | Pulls the full picture of a single campaign — products, mockups, artwork, and where it's published. | "Show me everything on the 'Dog Mom Hoodie' campaign." |
|
Search all campaigns | Browses or searches your full list of campaigns. | "List all my campaigns tagged 'summer.'" |
|
Archive many campaigns | Hides many campaigns at once without deleting them. | "Archive all my 'Spring Clearance' campaigns." |
|
Restore many archived campaigns | Brings many archived campaigns back to active status at once. | "Bring back all the Halloween campaigns from the archive." |
|
Convert a campaign to a Boundless product | Copies a campaign (artworks and mockups included) into Boundless platform products. The result is not published until you publish it. | "Convert my 'Retro Sunset Tees' campaign into Boundless products." |
|
Building a campaign
Adding the product, its photos, and the design onto a campaign — in that order.
Action | Description | Example prompt | Tool ID |
|---|---|---|---|
Add a product to a campaign | Attaches a base product (a mug, a t-shirt, etc.) to a campaign. | "Add the classic mug to my 'World's Best Grandma' campaign." |
|
Edit a product's listing details | Changes its display title and ordering within the campaign. | "Change this product's title to 'Ceramic Coffee Mug — 11oz.'" |

|
Edit a product photo's settings | Changes alt text, background color, and similar mockup settings. | "Set this mockup's background to white and add alt text 'mug on wood table.'" |
|
Place a design on the product | Drops an artwork from the library onto the printarea. | "Put the 'Retro Sunset' design onto the printarea on this mug." |
|
Reposition a placed design | Moves or resizes a design that's already sitting on the product. | "Make the design 20% bigger and move it slightly left." |
|
Add variants to many campaigns | Adds a product's variants (sizes/colors) to every campaign that already uses that product — all available variants, or only the ones you choose. Link them to a photo afterwards. | "Add the 3XL size of the classic t-shirt to all my campaigns that use it." |
|
Remove variants from many campaigns | Takes chosen sizes/colors of a product off every campaign that uses it (or only the campaigns you pick). Previews first. Photos that only those variants used are removed too, unless you keep them. Your product catalog isn't changed. Handy for getting under Shopify's 250-variant limit. | "Remove the 3XL size of the classic t-shirt from all my campaigns, preview first." |
|
Remove a product from many campaigns | Detaches a product from many campaigns at once. | "Remove the tote bag from these three campaigns." |

|
Test how the design prints | Generates a test print file for a campaign using sample personalization (name, photo, etc.), like the portal's Design testing page. Then check progress and view the result. | "Generate a test design for my 'Pet Portrait' campaign with the name 'Bella.'" |
|

Design your artworks
Create and edit your designs directly — no need to open the artwork editor.

|
Look up how layers work | Gives the assistant the reference for every layer type and its settings, so it builds designs correctly. | "What can a photo layer do?" |
|
Edit many artworks at once | Changes layer settings (or the name/folder) across many designs at once, picking them by id or by what they contain. Previews the before/after first, and can be undone with the restore tool. | "Rename 'Cat' to 'Kitten' in the labels of all my 'Pet' artworks." |
|
Upgrade old artworks to Artwork 2.0 | Converts older (1.0) designs to the new format. Previews first; designs that can't be converted completely are skipped and listed. | "Convert all my old artworks to Artwork 2.0, preview first." |

As it builds, the assistant checks your design for problems and reads how each layer is put together behind the scenes — you don't need to ask for this.
