Importing Canva Designs into Teeinblue


This article explains how to connect your Canva account and import designs directly into Teeinblue artworks.


Step 1: Connect Your Canva Account


To begin, you must authenticate your Canva account within the Teeinblue portal:

  • Navigate to Extras in the sidebar.
  • Select Third-Party Services.
  • Find Canva and click Connect to connect your account.



  • Select the Account you want to connect:



Note: Authentication is user-based. However, all staff members within the same organization can view and use the connected Canva accounts.



Step 2: How to Import


You have two options to import Canva design:

  • Option 1 - In Artwork Library: Use the Import from Canva button to create a new artwork.



  • Option 2 - In Artwork Editor: Use the Import from Canva button within an existing artwork.


Import Scope and Technical Specifications


Our app reads XML files and prioritizes converting elements into vectors. If a vector conversion is not possible, the element is converted into an image.


Format Priority when converting:

  • PPTX (Highest priority for editability)
  • PNG / JPG
  • PDF


Conversion Rules and Limitations


1. Text Elements:


Textboxes from Canva are converted into Paragraph elements to maintain exact positioning.

Only support horizontal align, Line height, Letter spacing.

Fonts

Partial

Supports Google Fonts only. Unsupported fonts default to Roboto.

No Shadow, Stroke, Curve, or Skew.


2. Image Elements:


Images are imported as static layers by default unless specific frames are used.

  • Personalization: To allow customer photo uploads, use a Canva Frame. These import as Photo Reposition elements with a mask.
  • Static Images: Images without frames import as non-personalized layers.
  • Properties Supported: Position, Rotate, Flip (Horizontal/Vertical).


Exclusions:

  • Not support for transparent images.
  • Not support for Shadows on images.
  • GIFs and Videos import as static thumbnails only.


3. Lines, Shapes, and Backgrounds:


  • Shapes: Standard shapes convert to vectors. Rectangles and image flipping for vectors are currently not supported.
  • Lines: Only straight lines with 0° or 90° rotation are supported.
  • Backgrounds: Supports solid, gradient, and image backgrounds, with vector-format imports.
