Star Map

The following article will guide you through the set up process of the Star Map feature.

Connect Mapbox & Google Map account

Before we begin, it is required to connect your Mapbox or Google Map account too teeinblue first. This is needed so that you can use the location search function while using the Star Map feature. Visit this article for detailed instructions.

Setting up the Star Map

You can find the Star Map set up dashboard under Extras > Star maps generator

Preview Section

To use this search function, first you need to create a Mapbox account (and Google Places API - optional), and link it to teeinblue. Visit this article for detailed instructions.

Setting up a Preview Location

This location and time are only used for previewing in this generator. It's not the default location showing on Artwork.

Your Star Map configuration

It is suggestible to make change to your Star Map from the configuration panel above, not directly here.
Please note that you can only save one configuration at a time. Be sure to copy - paste the configuration into your Artwork first, before creating a new one.

Adding the Star Map configuration to your Artwork

In your Artwork Editor, create a new layer like you normally do, and select the following setting:

You can actually use a special shape of your choice here, but recommend using a layer with ratio 1:1 (square).

Heart-shaped Star Map

However, please note that the Star Map is always a Circle Shape put inside a Square Box. See the below image:

How the Map is displayed inside Artwork Editor

Keep this in mind while you design the special shape for the Star Map. All parts outside the dotted circle will be cut off.

How the special shape works

Please keep in mind that the original layer for the Star Map should always be in a square shape as well.

In here, you will find a setting panel for the Star Map feature as well. The first thing you should do should be copying your recently created configuration here:

Copying your configuration

If you want to update the Star Map configuration, please go back to your Extras > Star maps generator to create a new configuration

In the setting panel inside Artwork Editor, you can:

Set a custom default location (This will override the default location you have set inside Star maps generator page)
Set a custom label for each setting
Set a custom placeholder text for each setting
Set a custom show/hide switch for each setting

How to set up a default location

The location that maps will show when customers haven't selected a location yet.
You can change it by entering a latitude & longitude of a location.

To get the latitude & longitude of a location: Search a location on Google maps > Right click on the marker > copy the "latitude, longitude" number OR copy it on the url.

Once you are done with the setting inside Artwork Editor, the Campaign should look like this:

If you are happy with the Campaign, you can go ahead and launch it now!
