Paragraph (Multi-line Text) feature

The Paragraph feature allows you to add a custom text field that supports multiple lines, where customers can enter song lyrics, quotes, messages, or any other text they want.

Creating a Paragraph layer:


In your Artwork Editor, click the + Layer button. Under Select a layer type, in the Text group, choose Paragraph. You have two options to select for the Paragraph layer: Normal and Custom Shape.



1. Normal Shape.


This allows customers to enter text in a standard box that you can resize into a square or rectangle.


Paragraph container:


The paragraph box has a fixed size. You can drag and drop its handles in the Artwork Editor to resize the container. The input text will stay within its boundaries:

  • If the text exceeds the container's width, it will automatically wrap to the next line.
  • If the text exceeds the container's height, the font size will automatically scale down to fit.
  • If the text is shorter than the container's height, the font size will remain unchanged. The maximum font size will be the size you set for the paragraph.



Paragraph alignments


  • Horizontal Alignment:



  • Vertical Alignment:


The paragraph will automatically be scaled vertically. You cannot disable this setting.


Paragraph letter spacing


You can adjust the letter spacing of your paragraph using this setting.



Adjust Font Properties


You can customize the following font properties:

  • Font Size;
  • Font Family;
  • Font Color.

If the paragraph already fills its container, increasing the font size will have no effect.



Text background


  • The background image is applied to the paragraph's content, not the entire container.




Text stroke/ Shadow


A Paragraph layer supports Text Stroke and Shadow effects, just like a single-line text layer.



Character and Line Limits


  • Text Character Limit: sets the maximum number of characters applied to the entire paragraph, not each line individually. Pressing Enter or Spacebar counts as one character.



  • Limit Number of Lines: sets the minimum and maximum number of lines customers can type into this paragraph. This counts the lines they enter, not the lines displayed in the design.



Vertical offset


You will find this setting in Extra section. It allows you to adjust the paragraph's position in the rendered order design.


In some cases, certain custom fonts, especially handwriting fonts, make it difficult to calculate text positioning precisely. As a result, the position of the paragraph may appear slightly misaligned between the Artwork Editor or Product Page and the final order design.


The behavior depends on the selected vertical alignment:

  • Top-aligned: The paragraph may shift down a few pixels in the order design.
  • Bottom-aligned: The paragraph may shift up a few pixels in the order design.
  • Middle-aligned: The paragraph should remain correctly positioned, so no adjustment is needed.


If you encounter any of these issues, follow the steps below to correct the paragraph's position in your order designs.


Step 1. Open the Artwork, in Extra section, adjust the Vertical Offset setting. Enter -1 to move the paragraph up by 1 px or +1 to move it down by 1 px.



Step 2. Save the Artwork after making your adjustments.


Step 3. Regenerate the order design. You can repeat these steps until achieving the desired position.



Step 4. Update the Campaign once you are satisfied with the result. You will not need to repeat this process for subsequent orders using the updated Campaign.


2. Custom Shape


This allows customers to enter a long message or paragraph that follows a predefined Teeinblue custom shape, such as a heart or spiral. Using your own custom shapes is not supported yet.



  • Depending on the chosen shape, text length, and font size, the paragraph may not fully fill the shape, especially around sharp or narrow areas, such as the tips of a star or the curves of a heart.



  • Paragraph layer using Custom Shape does not support line breaks.


Launch campaign


  • Once you've finished creating your Artwork, add it to your Campaign as usual and publish it.



A few tips to manage the Paragraph layer:


Switching between a Paragraph layer and another text type.


  • You can convert a text layer to another text type without recreating it. Any settings supported by both the original and new text types will be preserved.
  1. Select the Paragraph layer in the Artwork Editor.
  2. Click the ... icon in the toolbar and select Convert to another layer.
  3. Choose the desired text type in the popup.



When you convert a Paragraph layer to a single-line text type, line breaks are replaced with spaces so the text appears on a single line.



  • Duplicate & Link creates a copy of your Paragraph that stays connected to the original. A Paragraph layer can only be linked to another Paragraph layer.
  • Your customer only types once, and the text appears in every linked paragraph.
