Selling "Pack" Products (Ornaments or Photo Stickers)

Introduction

Selling products in bundles (e.g., a 5-pack of ornaments or a 3-sticker pack) requires multiple customization fields on one page. This guide shows how to link one "Pack" variant to multiple print areas so customers can design every item in their set at once.

The goal of this setup is to ensure that each variant returns the exact number of designs required for that pack.

For example, if a customer selects a Pack 3 variant, they will be prompted to customize 3 separate items. Once the order is placed, the system generates 3 individual design files accordingly. This logic allows you to sell bundles while keeping each item's customization and production file distinct.

1. Creating Product Base

Set up your Printareas according to the maximum number of items in your largest pack.

Define Print Areas:

Create a unique Print Area for each individual item. Example: For a 3-pack of photo stickers, create Pack 1, Pack 2, Pack 3.

Map Variants to Print Areas:

  • Create your pack variants (e.g., Pack 1, Pack 2, Pack 3).
  • Enable Custom variant's printarea.
  • In the Connect custom printarea column, click the field and select all relevant printareas from the dropdown.

In this example, since you sell a "3 packs ornament" as a single variant, you can connect it to both "Pack 1" and "Pack 2" and "pack 3" printareas. The customer will then see customization options for all of them on the same page.

Rendering and Order Generation

The SDK handles multiple printarea connections automatically to ensure correct production files.

  • Storefront Rendering: The SDK identifies every printarea linked to the selected variant and renders their respective artwork layers.
  • Order Design: When an order is placed, the system generates separate design files for each connected printarea.
  • Example: If a variant is connected to "Pack 1" and "Pack 2" printareas, you will receive two high-quality design files in the order details: one for the Pack 1 and one for the Pack 2.

2. Creating Artworks

For this 3-pack sticker example, you need 3 separate artworks

  • Efficiency: Create your first artwork, then use the Duplicate function to quickly create the other two.
  • Naming: Rename each duplicate immediately (e.g., "Pack 1", "Pack 2", "Pack 3"). Choosing clear names ensures you do not get confused when assigning them to specific print areas in the Campaign Editor.

3. Creating Campaign

  • Create a new Campaign and select your Ornament or Sticker Product Base.
  • Be sure to add the Artworks to each Variant accordingly

You will notice in this editor that you can only add one artwork to each individual print area. As long as you connected the variants correctly in the Product Base section, the app handles the grouping automatically. When a customer selects a variant on your storefront, the system identifies all print areas linked to that variant and displays every artwork assigned to them. You do not need to manually group multiple artworks into each printarea here.

  • Launch your Campaign!

4. Storefront Logic and Fulfillment

  • On Storefront: When a customer selects "Pack of 3", the SDK automatically expands the personalization form to show 3 separate sets of upload or text fields.

  • On Order Detail Page: Each connected print area generates its own high-resolution file. For a 3-pack, you will receive 3 individual print-ready files in the order details. This allows you to print and cut each item in the bundle accurately.
