Managing Layer Visibility with Toggle Options

Managing Layer Visibility with Independent Toggle Options

We are introducing a more flexible way to manage layer visibility. Previously, the "Show/hide" toggle was a sub-option tied to a single, specific layer, which limited reuse and customization. By refactoring the Show/Hide toggle into an independent layer type, you can now control multiple elements with a single toggle and customize its display labels.

Why the Change?

  • Current Limitation: Toggles are tied to individual layers, making it impossible to control multiple layers with one switch. Additionally, the label text defaults to the layer or option name with fixed formatting.
  • New Benefit: You can now create a single toggle option and link it to various layers (text, image, etc.) using conditions.

How to Implement the New Flow

  1. Create the Visibility Option:

On your Artwork Editor, click on +Layer, then select Toggle

  1. Add Your Layers:

Prepare the text, image, or other layers you want to toggle on the artwork.

  1. Set Visibility Conditions:

Configure your layers to respond to the selection made in your new visibility option. This allows a single toggle to control the appearance of multiple elements simultaneously.

Customizing the Toggle Label

To provide better control over your storefront presentation, we have updated how labels work:

  • Remove Default Text: We have removed the default "Show" prefix and the associated brackets from the toggle label.

  • Label Customization: You will find a new "Toggle label" field in the settings.

  • Translation Note: The existing translation for "Show" located in the "Product page content" settings is now deprecated and will only apply to legacy toggles created under the previous system.
