Dynamic Design Color switching based on Variant Color
When a product includes multiple color variants, a fixed design color may lose contrast and become unreadable on certain variants. This commonly happens when the design blends into the shirt color, reducing visibility and clarity.
In this article, we will walk you through a workaround that automatically switches the design color based on the selected variant color, ensuring consistent contrast and readability across all product variants.

In the video above, note that the design color is automatically inverted based on the T-shirt color to ensure readability.

Creating the Product Base
- Create or import a Product like you normally do.
- With this method, setting up Printaeas correctly is very essential. Make sure to create the same number of Printareas as the number of Color Variants.

NOTE: Name each Printarea exactly the same as its corresponding variant color. This makes the setup easier to manage and maintain over time.

Custom variant's printareaswitch, and make sure you connect the Color Variant to the correct Printarea

- Double-check that each variant color is correctly connected to its corresponding Printarea.
Creating the Artworks
Before creating the Artworks, plan in advance which design color will be used for each product color variant. This ensures the correct artwork is assigned to the correct Printarea.
- Let’s start by creating an Artwork for the black T-shirt. In this example, a white layer is used for the background, and all text elements are set to white.

NOTE: Name each Artwork exactly the same as its corresponding Printarea This makes the setup easier to manage and maintain over time.
- Duplicate the Artwork and invert the background and text colors for the Ash variant.

- Repeat this process and adjust the artwork according to the number of variants you have.
- It should look like this once you're done

Creating the Campaign
- Create a new Campaign like you normally do
- Make sure you add the correct Artwork to its Printarea

- Double-check everything before launch it to your Store!
